Men's fashion exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum

A one-of-a-kind exhibition called Fashioning Masculinities: The Art of Menswear aims to celebrate the basics of men’s fashion by comparing modern garments to sculptures and works of art.

The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for March 2022, the timing is flawless.

The exhibition is sponsored by Gucci and there will be colorful oil paintings from the 1700 by Joshua Reynolds and Jean-Baptiste Perronneau who will sit next to the magenta creations by Harris Reed and Grace Wales Bonner that could be the future of fashion.

In a moment of unprecedented creativity in men’s fashion the exhibition will explore how designers, tailors and artists, and their clients and models, have built and interpreted masculinity. You will see celebrities such as Harry Styles taken as examples of the new men’s fashion

Elsewhere, articles by contemporary designers JW Anderson and Ludovic de Saint Sernin, famous for accentuating the male form through the use of transparent fabrics and fluids – are joined by a plaster cast of the draped Farnese sculpture Hermes, 20 th-century prints and photographs David Hockney and Calvin Klein advert.
